3 easy steps to conquer your fear using your voice - what?! A wise idea, isn’t it?
In my first video, I shared with you that our brain is wired in a way that we can’t feel fear when we sing. Our system cannot produce all the chemicals of fear when we give physical resonance.
I also talked about the importance of breathing. When we are scared, we tend to forget this, or our breath becomes shallow, so it’s a great idea to build into a system an automated reminder :).
Now it is a kind invitation to come with me and take action as you watch the video.
Let’s do five five cycles of deep breath together.
Breath deeper than you would normally do.
When you inhale, open new spaces in your body for new things, when you exhale, let the things of the past hour or day or week go.
Now, elongate your exhalation, sigh it out loud, slow it down, but still stay in the enjoyment of it. So as the air comes out from your body, give a sound to it, in other words: make your body be heard.
Don’t think in terms of “I have to sing now”, or “I have to project a note”, because it might disconnect you from your body and the essence here is just the opposite: stay connected to your body. Remember, you don't have to be perfect.
Be crystal clear: the origin of your sound is in your breath, and your breathing is yours, the physical apparatus that produces this sound is also yours. You don’t have to please others and give your voice away.
This little practice will help in this, you can use this connectedness in speaking and in singing, both.
